There are 27 Brain Boost Franchises in Australia.
How many Brain Boost Franchises are available in each territory?
The number of Franchises available in territories varies with population densities. In the CBDs, Sydney has 4; Melbourne has 3 and Brisbane has 2. There are a total of 8 territories in NSW; 5 in Queensland and Victoria; 2 in South Australia, Western Australia, Tasmania and the ACT. The NT has one territory.
Do you get a territory with the Franchise and how are the territory boundaries assessed?
In the CBDs of Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane there are no territories. Associates are free to operate anywhere. Outside these CBDs, there are territories as shown on the website (visual organisation chart, under Associates {The Business} and in the Information Booklet for Prospective Associates.
What other costs are Brain Boost Associates likely to incur?

Is a deposit fee required with the Brain Boost Franchise Application?
A deposit fee of 10% of the Franchise purchase price is required with the application form.
What will a Brain Boost Franchise cost?
The Franchise purchase price varies from $15k to $55k, depending on the territory. There is a 3-year initial agreement (with first choice of renewal). NO OTHER annual fees or extras are due. Subsequent renewals: 5 years + 5 years (Annual + CPI + 5% of gross turnover)
Are there any additional costs over and above the Franchise purchase price?
Associates are responsible for their own business costs and any additional marketing and publicity they choose as well as accommodation at and travel to and from the National Brain Boost Conference.
How much money can I make as a Brain Boost Associate?
The magnitude of the financial return depends on the amount of work the Associate is willing to spend on and in the business. We have established a minimum turnover for each territory at 3 times the annual franchise fee.
How long will it take to set up a Brain Boost business in my territory?
This will vary greatly with each Associate. If the Associate has an existing business, with an extensive business network, it is likely that the business will be operational within one month.
What training do I get as a Brain Boost Associate?
Associates are trained on-site, in their own territory on a face-to-face basis, in how to operate their new business. A comprehensive “Operations Manual” provides additional assistance. Monthly and quarterly SKYPE coaching calls are coordinated through Head Office for additional support.
What experience do I need to become a Brain Boost Associate?
Associates are "True Local". They know the people and organisations in their territory - and people know them!
Brain Boost Associates possess:
• Either experience in the Learning, Training and/or Organisational Development environment or the ability to lead and manage people in this type of environment
• A strong and deep network knowledge within the industry spheres in which they operate

As an Associate, how much time would I need to commit to the Brain Boost business?
The more time spent in or on the business, the greater the financial returns. We regard Brain Boost as a full time business. If the Associate plans to market and manage the business aggressively, using a team of facilitators, then a full working week will be necessary. The same can be said if the Associate plans to market, manage and facilitate.

Is Brain Boost a new business?
Brain Boost commenced business in South Australia in May 2005. The business has been built with a national focus in mind and has a Head Office in Adelaide, South Australia
Can Associates customise monthly Brain Boost newsletters to suit their territories?
Yes. Associates can quite easily customise their own Brain Boost monthly newsletter then email it in HTML format to their client list.
Does Brain Boost have any advantages over their competitors?

The business is adequately differentiated from that of other training providers. There is no competition in Australia and New Zealand for time efficient and effective learning programs. Brain Boost offers programs that are not accredited and need not be assessed.
Brain Boost automatically sends an “evaluation” email to all participants within 7 days of each learning program. A collated evaluation is automatically prepared for the “buyer” of the program. This assists the client with ROI calculations.
As an Associate, will Brain Boost allow me sufficient flexibility to design and deliver learning programs, which are not listed on the website?
We actively promote the idea of new programs being created by Associates to meet local territory needs. With approval from Brain Boost Head Office, new programs from the field will be uploaded to the website to ensure that Brain Boost remains current in the years ahead.
As an Associate, do I have the flexibility to set my own prices?
Yes. Associates have complete flexibility to set their own prices. There needs to be autonomy with pricing structures when dealing with local “Not For Profit” organisations; community learning groups; public seminars; one-off corporate programs, multiple repeat programs, large conference programs, etc. Pricing will vary across franchise territories.
Does Brain Boost have “rules” which safeguard designated Associate territories?
In the CBDs of Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane there are no territories. Associates are free to operate anywhere in the designated CBD of that city. Outside these CBDs, there are territories as shown on the website (visual organisation chart, under Associates {The Business} and in the Information Booklet for Prospective Associates. In cases of National Tenders or National Corporate “roll-outs” of learning, where Associates may be required to operate outside their designated territories, or Associates may require their peers to operate on their behalf, simple rules will be discussed and managed by Head Office.
What arrangements are in place for Brain Boost Associates to source merchandise?
Brain Boost clothing, banners and business cards can be ordered through the Brain Boost website at very competitive prices. All other stationery needs are available in a “downloadable” template format via the Brain Boost website.

Yes. Brain Boost has unlimited potential and long-term opportunities.

What support does Head Office provide to Associates?
Following extensive induction and skilling to commence the business, Associate support is provided in a number of ways. On an individualised face-to-face basis when and where required or by scheduled monthly and quarterly SKYPE coaching calls on a monthly or quarterly basis. Collegiate support will be encouraged at the annual Brain Boost conference. Each Associate has the protection of the Franchise Council of Australia. To ensure an easier financial start in the first year, each Associate receives 15 months for the price of 12 months in their first year.
Will Brain Boost appoint additional Associates into additional territories?
There are twenty-seven Brain Boost Franchises throughout Australia. The number of franchises in Australia will NOT change unless 100% of Associates agree that it should happen.

Are there any restrictions / rules governing how Brain Boost is advertised?
Provided that Brain Boost artwork and logos are used as per the Style Guide in the Operations Manual, Associates are free to advertise in their own territory via any medium.
Can the purchase of a Brain Boost Franchise be shared with one or more people?
Yes. Each “stakeholder” becomes a listed Shareholder/Director of that Franchise.
What can a new Associate expect to receive as a “start-up pack”?
Associates will receive their own homepage within the Brain Boost Website; their own email address; 2 Brain Boost shirts; an Operations Manual; a Brain Boost Pull-Up Banner and 100 Brain Boost Stress Brains.
Is Brain Boost a good financial proposition?
Brain Boost wishes to make this business accessible to prospective buyers who have the resources to purchase a Franchise AND have the required competencies in the training and development world. As in every business, there are administrative and marketing costs. The return on investment is dependent upon the success of the marketing effort. Relatively low overheads can enable growth without high overhead costs.
The Directors of Brain Boost have set a minimum turnover for each Associate of 3 times the franchise investment in each year of operation. The model in operation in South Australia realises at net profit return of 65% per Brain Boost program.
